The group’s Integrated Report is published every year to provide an annual report on its financial governance and breakdown, including management strategies and business overview, as well as non-financial information such as its sustainability activities
This year’s report, officially released on 28th September, focuses on NSHD’s medium-term management plan – appropriately titled ‘NS Vision 2026 | Enabling the Future’.
A four-year plan running from April 2022 to March 2026, it addresses the road NSHD will take in the four years ahead and comes at a time when the group is about to embark on its progressive Carbon Neutral World strategy across the globe.

Ahead of the report’s release, NSHD President CEO Toshihiko Hamada, said in a statement, “Amid a Covid-19 pandemic that has no end in sight and rising geopolitical tension and division, we are experiencing increasingly troubled times. The report, the English language version of which can be found here, sets out NSHD’s roadmap, commitments, value creation and strategy to deliver that, as well as its focus on sustainability and corporate governance.

Vision 2026
The NS Vision 2026 plan, the slogan for which is Enabling the Future, is based on recognition of the current situation and designed to strengthen the group’s ‘comprehensive capabilities’ and promote its growth through five focused fields – with new financial and non-financial KPIs under the operational structure of its four geographic hubs and its Thermos business division.

Key considerations in terms of the Industrial Gases Market comprise of ‘Reliable acquisition of business opportunities’ (objective) and ‘Improve profitability’ (task). It describes the group’s ‘urgent task’ as strengthening its comprehensive capabilities in order to respond to the changing world and enhance its standing in each region.
Financial KPIS for the four-year period include achieving revenue of between ¥975bn to ¥1,000bn ($6.7bn – $6.9bn) from a current base of ¥957bn ($6.6bn approx.) and a group EBITDA margin of around >24%.
Non-financial KPIs for the period include a reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 18% by fiscal year ending 2026 (from a baseline of 2019) and by 32% by 2031.
